FOURTH-QUARTER UPDATE: After Springdale made it 21-7 on Ben Sowinski's 5-yard run, Shenango answered with Tyler Root's 5-yard scoring run and Brandon Ryder's 20-yard punt return for a score.
THIRD-QUARTER UPDATE: The two teams battled for field position in the third period. Springdale got the better of it, driving to Shenango's 9 yard line. That's when the Wildcat defense stiffened as Keyser broke up a fourth-and-goal pass in the end zone to preserve the 21-point lead.
SECOND-QUARTER UPDATE: Hunter Waskin scored on runs of 40 and 7 yards to give Shenango a 21-0 intermission lead. Waskin's 7-yard jaunt capped a 10-play, 97-yard drive after the Wildcat defense forced a punt. Waskin ended the half with 72 yards on eight carries and Jason Wallace added 57 yards on 11 attempts. Shenango has rushed for 207 yards. The Wildcat defense kept Springdale scoreless when Anthony Keyser blocked a 35-yard field goal attempt on the final play of the half.
FIRST-QUARTER UPDATE: Shenango took the opening kick and marched 83 yards in 14 plays, capped by Brett Hoover's 1-yard run with 5:25 remaining, giving the Wildcats a 7-0 lead. Shenango's Evan Kendall intercepted a Dan Franskousky pass at the Springdale 41 late in the first period.
