FOURTH-QUARTER UPDATE: Carr's fourth touchdown run gives Hickory a 28-14 lead with less than five minutes remaining in the contest. Wilmington offensive lineman Matt Jamison caught a tipped pass for a 5-yard touchdown with five seconds remaining to make the count 28-20.
THIRD-QUARTER UPDATE: Carr's third touchdown of the night and 100th on his career, a 6-yard run following a Wilmington turnover, gives Hickory a 21-14 lead midway into the third period.
SECOND-QUARTER UPDATE: Kyle Slicker's 2-yard touchdown run gave Wilmington a 14-0 lead before Hickory answered with a pair of Chuck Carr's 2-yard runs. Sophomore quarterback Gallagher, who replaced injured starter Luke Brennan, was 3-of-3 for 39 yards in the first scoring march. Carr surpassed 6,000 yards rushing for his career and scored his 99th touchdown to tie the count at 14-14.
FIRST-QUARTER UPDATE: Spencer DeMedal caps a 91-yard drive with a 5-yard touchdown run and Wilmington scores first with 2:27 remaining in the first period in the battle of unbeatens.
