FOURTH QUARTER UPDATE — Brian Zengesky caught a 5-yard touchdown pass with 10:19 remaining and Butler's defense stood tough down the stretch to preserve the victory.
THIRD QUARTER UPDATE — New Castle turned Butler away twice inside the Red Hurricane 15 to preserve a 21-21 tie entering the fourth. Terrance McCaster recovered a Butler fumble to stop one drive and the Golden Tornado failed on a fourth-and-2 later in the period. The fourth starts with Butler driving inside New Castle's 20.
SECOND QUARTER UPDATE — Keene scored on a 1-yard run with 25 seconds remaining to tie the count at 21-21 for New Castle. Eli Christy had given Butler a 21-14 lead earlier on a 30-yard run.
FIRST QUARTER UPDATE — Michael Bongivengo and Keith Keene scored on long runs as New Castle and Butler opened the season with a shootout, tied at 14-14 after one. Bongivengo's TD run came from 21 yards out on the last play of the period. Keene started New Castle's scoring with a 64-yard run. Butler scored on a 23-yard interception return by Josh Reddick and a 1-yard Tony Fudoli run.
