FOURTH-QUARTER UPDATE: Ceriani connected with Crawford for a second touchdown, this one covering 17 yards with 2 minutes remaining, giving Ellwood the win and a berth in the WPIAL playoffs. Riverside had taken a 21-17 lead earlier on Jared Vesensi's 4-yard touchdown run.
THIRD-QUARTER UPDATE: Ceriani's second touchdown pass of the game — a 61-yard strike to Kyle Crawford on the third play after intermission — gave Ellwood a 17-14 advantage going into the final 12 minutes.
SECOND-QUARTER UPDATE: Quarterback Tom Mansfield accounted for two touchdowns as Riverside grabbed a 14-10 intermission lead. Mansfield threw a 25-yard scoring strike to Jake Thellman and then scored on a 14-yard run. Ellwood pulled to within four on Scott Lewis' 38-yard field goal with 31 seconds left in the half.
FIRST-QUARTER UPDATE: In a battle for a playoff berth, Ellwood jumped on top first on Gino Ceriani's 18-yard touchdown pass to Garrett Thomas with 5:38 remaining in the opening quarter.
