FOURTH-QUARTER UPDATE: Cox's 1-yard run with 22 seconds remaining capped a furious comeback for Ellwood. Cox's 3-yard strike to Kyle Crawford with less than five minutes remaining tied the count at 26-26. Nick Polka was on the receiving end of a 70-yard flea-flicker pass from Jared Myers to start the fourth-quarter rally.
THIRD-QUARTER UPDATE: Lynch's third touchdown of the game, this one coming on a 65-yard run, put Freeport up 15 entering the final period.
SECOND-QUARTER UPDATE: Freeport scored on a 25-yard interception return by Damon Smith, but Ellwood countered with Julian Cox's 12-yard run, leaving the Wolverines down by 8 at the break.
FIRST-QUARTER UPDATE: Brendan Lynch scored on runs of 75 and 1 yard to give Freeport the early lead. Ellwood's points came on a 33-yard field goal by Scott Lewis.
