Ellwood falls short against Beaver Falls

The Elllwood City Lincoln High football team mounted a furious comeback, but it wasn’t enough in a 33-21 loss to Beaver Falls.
The visiting Tigers jumped out to a 33-0 lead last night in the Midwestern Athletic Conference game before the Wolverines scored three touchdowns in 4:59 in the final period to close the gap.
Beaver Falls is now 4-1 in the MAC, 5-1 overall. Ellwood slipped to 2-3 and 3-3.
The Wolverines got touchdown runs from D.J. Barrett (20 yards), Nick Ioanilli (5 yards) and Mario Street (1 yard).
Ellwood had 251 yards on the ground, but was shut out in four attempts through the air.
Ioanilli rushed for 146 yards on 17 carries to lead the Wolverines, while Barrett added 62 yards on 17 tries.
Ellwood travels to Mohawk on Friday night for a conference encounter.
