Ellwood unable to keep pace with Bobcats

A strong ground game wasn’t enough for the Ellwood City Lincoln football team in a 35-13 loss at Beaver last night.
The Wolverines rushed for 252 yards, but had no yards through the air in the Midwestern Athletic Conference clash. By comparison, the Bobcats had 190 yards rushing and 136 yards passing.
Ellwood City (1-6, 1-7) trailed just 21-7 at the half, but Beaver (6-0, 8-0), ranked No. 4 in WPIAL Class AA by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, exploded for two touchdowns in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.
Beau Ewing rushed for 130 yards on 17 carries, while Jared Meyers added 105 yards on 27 tries for Ellwood City. Meyers scored both of the Wolverines’ touchdowns on runs of 1 and 3 yards.
Bobcats quarterback Austin Ross was 5 for 12 through the air for 122 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
