Written: Oct 05, 2012
FOURTH-QUARTER UPDATE: Marsick's third touchdown of the game, a 1-yard run late, sealed Rochester's victory over Neshannock. Eli Owens scored on a 1-yard run with 18 seconds remaining for the Lancers, but the ensuing onside kick sailed out of bounds and Rochester ran out the clock.
THIRD-QUARTER UPDATE: Quarterback Ben Richko's 2-yard keeper and conversion run gave Rochester a 7-point lead entering the final quarter.
SECOND-QUARTER UPDATE: Burkes is helping the Lancers' cause on both sides of the ball in a one-point Neshannock lead at the break. First, Burkes threw his second touchdown pass of the game, this one covering 60 yards to John Conglose, to give the Lancers a 14-13 lead. Then, after Dante Marsick's second touchdown of the period — a 60-yard jaunt — Burkes blocked the PAT conversion, leaving the Lancers ahead. Marsick's other score game on a 3-yard run just 53 seconds into the second session.
FIRST-QUARTER UPDATE: Neshannock drew first blood less than two minutes into the game when Ernie Burkes connected with Alex Welker for a 25-yard touchdown. A holding penalty thwarted another potential scoring drive for the Lancers, who then turned the ball over on downs late in the frame.
