Meet the youth football all-conference team

Donovan Crockett and Reis Watkins stood tall when the Tri-County Youth Football League announced the all-conference team.
Crockett, of New Castle Black, was named the offensive MVP, while Shenango’s Reis Watkins earned defensive MVP honors.
Selections are voted on by league coaches to recognize outstanding accomplishments and efforts of the county’s youth.
Following are the first-team, second-team and honorable mention accolades for the Tri-County Youth Football League.

Local teams get playoff locations

The Shenango and Neshannock high football teams have received the WPIAL Class A quarterfinal round playoff assignments.
Shenango (7-3) will meet Clairton (10-0) at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Chartiers-Houston High School.
Neshannock (10-0) will travel to Deer Lakes High School to take on Jeannette (9-1) at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Meanwhile, Wilmington High (5-4) will open PIAA District 10 Class A postseason competition when it takes on Cambridge Springs (8-2) at 7 p.m. Friday at General McLane High School.
Wilmington earns spot in D-10 playoffs

The wait is over for the Wilmington High football team.
A week of wondering who the Greyhounds will meet in the playoffs came to an end when District 10 released the football playoff pairings yesterday.
Wilmington (5-4) will meet Cambridge Springs (8-2) at 7 p.m. Friday at General McLane High School.
The Greyhounds shared the Region 1 championship with West Middlesex, Lakeview, Farrell and Sharpsville, all with 4-2 league marks. The Blue Devils won the Region 2 crown with a 7-0 conference mark.
The winner advances to the semifinals to meet the survivor of the Sharpsville-Iroquois matchup at a time, date and site to be determined by District 10.
